Not all diamonds are created equal.
At Shahriar Davaran, we know quality diamonds.
There are really four key characteristics that define diamond quality, these are better known as the 4C's. This stands for cut, clarity, color, and carat.
The cut of a diamond is designed to showcase the diamonds natural attributes. A style or design guide is used when shaping and polishing diamonds. Despite popular belief, this has nothing to go with the shape, such as marquis, pear, oval, etc... but instead refers to the symmetry, polishing, and proportions. A poorly cut diamond will have a lower level of luminescence. When choosing the best cut for the diamond, several factors come into play... size, natural shape, thickness, and the method of cutting being used. At Shahriar Davaran, all of our specialist are trained in the most technologically advanced cutting techniques in order to optimize the sparkle.
Clarity refers to how naturally perfect, or imperfect, a diamond is. When it comes to picking out a diamond, bigger is not necessarily better. A bigger diamond is more likely to have small pieces of un-crystalized carbon, which may or may not be visible to the naked eye.
Our specialists at Shahriar Davaran can help you by walking you through the diamond clarity chart and the price ranges of each.
For example, diamonds graded as flawless will have no imperfections. They are very rare and very expensive. To the unaided eye, a very slightly included diamond appears to have no flaws. The list goes down to included and below which will have visible flaws, but if these are being set into certain jewelry, these inclusions are difficult to see.
Most people think of diamonds as purely colorless, but, in fact, diamonds may come in a wide variety of colors from pink to blue (think of the Hope diamond) to orange, red, yellow, purple, even black. Even the diamonds that you see sparkling in the stores are not colorless.. Truly colorless diamonds are extremely rare, the majority of diamonds on the market have the faintest hint of brown or yellow to their color. While the untrained eye may not be able to detect these differences, they do effect the cost.
A big deal is often made over the carat of a diamond, but without the other three C's, you might as well by river rock. The carat indicates overall size of the diamond. One carat weighs about as much as a paper clip. When you are diamond shopping, all of these factors will determine the price tag. We can help you find the right balance for your needs. Is color most important? Clarity? Carat? Cut?
When you come into Shahriar Davaran jewelry, we will show you are options and let you know what you are really getting. We will help you decide if you need a perfect diamond or the perfect diamond for you.http://instagram.com/shahriar_davaran/
